About this dataset: NASA NEX-GDDP-CMIP6 provides high-resolution (~27km) climate projections from the latest generation of global climate models (CMIP6).
Data is bias-corrected and statistically downscaled using historical observations. SSP scenarios represent different socioeconomic pathways: SSP2-4.5 assumes moderate mitigation efforts,
while SSP5-8.5 represents high fossil fuel use. This dataset offers finer spatial detail than CORDEX but fewer hydrological indicators.
About this dataset: CORDEX (Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment) provides regional climate projections using the CMIP5 generation of models with RCP scenarios.
Data is bias-adjusted using the MIdAS method against historical observations. While coarser resolution (~50km) than NASA CMIP6, CORDEX includes comprehensive hydrological indicators
(soil moisture, water discharge, runoff) from the HYPE model that are not available in the NASA dataset. RCP 4.5 and 8.5 are roughly comparable to SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5.
